When you meet the love of your life, you actually get two honeymoons. Think about it – the first is the honeymoon phase of your relationship – that googley-eyed, lovey-dovey “everything is perfect” first 3 months or so of dating when you always put your best self forward and everything is new and exciting. The second is your actual honeymoon after the wedding where you get away from it all, caught in the excitement and romance of having finally walked down the aisle with the man that you love.
Unfortunately, real life manages to get in the way of both, and the lovey-dovey moments can feel fewer and farther between. That is why it is so important for you to still have Date Nights with your honey, even once you’re a Mrs. Schedules get busy and it can be easy to put off time alone together – after all, you see each other everyday running in and out of the house…right?
Chow time in front of the TV isn’t enough. In order to keep a relationship happy and healthy, it’s important to have real “out of the house” date nights. Explore somewhere new or do something for the first time together to bring back those feelings of excitement and discovery that you felt in the beginning, or schedule dinner at your fave place and leave the cells at home, allowing you to concentrate on each other and reconnecting. It doesn’t have to be expensive or over the top, and it doesn’t need to be the same night every week – and let’s be realistic, it may not happen every week – but it is important to get some date nights on the cal.
